So WHAT if:

•  I think if it's going to be cold out...it might as well snow (but I prefer sun 'n fun)
• My dog is so smart, he knows I'm going somewhere as soon as I zip my makeup bag closed -- he gets in his crate (who's a good boy!?)
• I've had some wacky rambling posts the last coupla days (oh well, sometimes I'm a wacky rambling girl!!)
• I posted my excitement for Real Housewives and The Bachelor on Facebook Monday night and one of my friends gave me a scathing comment about how terrible those shows are...(I know, that's probably part of why I like them!)
• I ordered myself some UGG slippers yesterday (that I don't really need) 'cause they were such a good deal (I can't pass up a deal)
•  I got tears in my eyes when I happened to see Ashley Robles's audition on American Idol last night --- omg - goosebumps! (anyone see it?)
• I stopped this post twice because I thought Shannon wasn't So Whating this week when I saw the words I am "foregoing SWW this week" on her blog....duh, I should slow down and read the whole post!
• I'm on the way out the door so I'll have to end my "So Whats" now............

So WHAT if:

• I went to Target last night with high hopes of shopping holiday clearances and didn't find anything exciting
• I could not have accomplished everything over the holidays without my 14-year-old daughter's help (awesome!)
• I got an iPad for Christmas, but am using my laptop to type this because it's faster
• I realized the light fixture over my kitchen table never got cleaned before my Christmas Eve company came -- can you say dusty and embarassing!
• in Michigan we did not have a white Christmas, but we have a white December 28th
• My dog woke me up early this morning because the giant helium fish my son got for Christmas somehow floated down the stairs (and my dog is afraid terrified of it)
• I feel a nap coming on....!

So WHAT if:

• My shoe collection has tripled now that two of my kids wear the same size shoe as I do (what happens at home while they're at school...stays at home)!
• I am still injured because I literally fell out of my car (flat on my knees) last weekend because my foot was stuck in my purse straps.  Funny...yet not... since it's a raised crossover
• My high school daughter unfriended me on Facebook (read boys)...and then friended me again within 24 hours... 'cause I pretty much made her
• High school parent teacher conferences are today...and sometimes I feel like I'm still in high school
• my 11 year old kids (twins) absolutely freaked out from nerves on the way to the doctor yesterday because they knew they were going to get at least 2 shots...oh the drama
• I've never had all of my nieces and nephews Christmas presents before Thanksgiving...but this year I do!
• I am feeling the pressure of Thanksgiving at my house...yikes!

So WHAT if:

 

• Our Detroit Tigers didn't go all the way, but at least it was fun while it lasted
• I've been scaring myself with the amount of sports I've been watching this past week -- complete with listening to the Lions game in the car when I had to pick up my daughter
• My 11 year old daughter is reading this over my shoulder...can't a mom get a break!
• I froze my *** off at a soccer game on Saturday morning and couldn't wait for it to end
• My kids continually walk past their own folded clothes when I put them on the stairway as if they don't see them
• My dog is soooo sweet that one of these days I'm just going to lay on the couch and cuddle with him all day
• You know your kids are getting older when they don't talk about Halloween every day...or barely at all
• I think my house would be immaculate if I never went on the computer or watched TV (don't tell my husband)
• I've been complaining for four days about how my husband acts like a baby when he has a cold...now I'm getting said cold...I know, it's a curse!

So WHAT if:

• I become more of a "sports fan" when my teams are in the playoffs than during the regular season
• Our Lions have not had another 5-0 start...since my mom was 12 years old!
• One of my daughters Kristin is literally asking me to take pictures of her for my blog and then telling me what I should say about her
• my teenage daughter is starting to act more and more like...a teenage daughter
• In a rush, I drove my kids to their soccer games without my contacts in...I can still see ok without them and everyone is fine...lol
• I'm glad my husband is finally on a business trip
• I've been getting the "church giggles" a lot lately (out of control laughter in inappropriate places)
• we havent' been to the cider mill yet this fall...the weather has been unseasonably warm and I like to go when it's a bit chilly out
• The "Real Housewives" might even be getting too crazy for me (well, almost)
• My "So Whats" probably don't make sense...I'm sleep deprived from watching sports!

• I'm getting my shopping groove back now that the kids are back in school...and I've got the bills to show for it
• Every week I wonder how much longer can a hamster possibly live...the cage is really an eye sore in my family room...lol
• The trickling water in my son's fish aquarium makes me have to go to the bathroom every time I walk by
• In my old age I'm starting to like crisp fall weather better than hot humid summers
• My son thinks I bought him new $60 Adidas running shoes...really I found them for $12 on clearance...and I had a 30% off coupon ;)
•  I keep thinking about the cheesecake we had for dessert last night (we split once slice for four people)...and I want more for breakfast!

• I'm enjoying visiting my mom much more than I enjoyed living with my mom
• Sometimes Most of the time I think our dog is the smartest one in the family
• I'm addicted to almost every show on Bravo
•  I don't always get up at 5:45 am with my high school daughter...not a morning person
• I want to decorate for fall, but my hot pink annual flowers clash with my deep oranges, reds and browns (I guess it's time to say bye bye annuals, but they still look good)
• I was right, Facebook and Pinterest take away from blogging time...
• I'm not that excited that my kids have a day off school tomorrow!
• I can't wait to see my daughter and her girlfriends all dressed up for the homecoming dance!!
• I'm sad that I put "Follow Me/Stalk Me" on my blog...and nobody does...LOL !!

• My non-blogging friends probably have no idea why I "So What" on Wednesdays...
• My daughter wants us to go shopping for a homecoming dress (wasn't she just 3 years old last year??)
• I've been playing gas tank roulette lately...I don't go to the gas station until my warning says I have about 30 or so miles left...sometimes less.  (When I'm doing errands I just wanna keep going!)
• My husband says it's bad to play gas tank roulette...LOL
• I missed my daughter's first soccer game this fall...and, of course, she scored a goal
• I have just started putting my house back together from the chaos of the kids being home for the summer and my mom living in my dining room for six months
• I finally "caved" and got a FB account....darn it!  I was trying to be a "hold out" but wanted to do Pinterest!
• I got totally creeped out when my husband's picture and my boyfriend from 7th grade appeared next to each other as "people I may know" on FB!!
• I haven't "so whated" in over a month -- but it feels good to be back! ;)

So WHAT if:

• I lost my "So What" groove for a couple weeks.  No worries...I'm baaaaack and ready to "So What"!!
• I made nachos last night and called it dinner...the husband was golfing and it was only me and two of my kids
• Cooking in the summer to me is either grilling, salads or BLTs...
• We've had our dog for a year and we still constantly take pictures of him ('cause everything he does is "so cute")
• I texted my 13 year old daughter at camp and she said she was fine but could I please stop bugging her....she's "really busy"!  (Teenagers!)
• I need an emergency appointment with my hair stylist/colorist!
• I made my kids go in the Disney Store with me at the mall yesterday...you're never too old for Disney and I have such fun memories of buying them all kinds of stuff there when they were little :)
• I just started reading The Help and am in a race to finish it before seeing the movie (which starts today!)
• My kids keep saying "we're hungry" and I keep saying "just a minute" so I could finish this ;)

• The husband was "asking" and I couldn't come up with a good reason why I had time to go to Target (seven times in four days) and yet never made it to the grocery store once in the last week (did I mention I hate dislike grocery shopping?)
• I haven't been following The Bachelorette as closely as I usually do and don't even know who's in the running...
• I had to rush my kids to Border's (books) last week to spend their gift cards 'cause it looks like they will be in liquidation soon...sign of the times
• We had popcorn for "lunch" yesterday...it was free popcorn day at the movies!
• My dog was barking away the other night...and when I went to look what the problem was,  I realized it was because our high school neighbor was outside smooching with her boyfriend! (awkward)
•  I just realized I musta had an ok week...I'm having trouble "so whating"!!

So WHAT if:

• I was (perhaps) over excited to receive a comment from Shannon herself on So What Wednesday last week!  (I'm so "small time" and her blog is so "big time"!)
• two of my kids are at the 4H Fair with another mom/teacher -- and the closest I came was "thinking about" bringing them
• I just found something I am posting tomorrow that was supposed to be posted...a month ago!!
• I was easily conned into driving my daughter and her three girlfriends to our place "up north" for the day just so they could swim in the lake and lay out in the sun on the beach
• I stay up way too late during the summer just to get that hour or two of peace and quiet (now that my kids are older, they stay up late, too)
• all of my favorite scents of candles are "food related" (vanilla, cinnamon spice, mulled cider, warm apple pie, etc...)
• I can't wait to see "Zookeeper"...I don't care if it's stupid...I love Kevin James!
• when my mom is bugging me, I run to the laundry room and pull stuff out of the dryer -- she loves to fold and it keeps her busy!!
• I took my kids to two 7-Elevens Monday (on 7-11) to get their free (tiny) Slurpees and another mom took them to get another one later in the day...they think it's the coolest thing to get a dinky free Slurpee (3 times)

So WHAT if:

• The main reason I was excited to return from our 3-day holiday weekend because we have no internet at our place up north (somebody get me an iPad!)
• My kids birthday cards are still on my mantle...and their birthday was two weeks ago :(
• I drove 2.5 hours by myself to an evening memorial service last week, stayed 45 minutes to give the family a hug, and then drove 2.5 hours back in the dark (all for the love of a friend)
• I love listening in on other people's conversations on the beach...not private conversations, but the groups of people talking to each other (especially the high school crowd who think they are "all that"...those were the days)!
• I set off the smoke detector making bacon for breakfast on Sunday...and mighta woke some of our neighbors before I could get the battery outta the smoke detector (oops, my bad!)
• I was awakened by my son practicing the piano...his lesson's at 10am (I guess I can't say "don't practice")
• I sometimes feel like every outing my family goes on is like a scene from the National Lampoon Vacation movies!

So WHAT if:

• I didn't "So What" last week...because I thought it was inappropriate to "So What" on the day two of my children were born...
• I have had a Slurpee (or the equivalent) with my kids just about every other day this week...nothing like it on a hot summer day (yep, pure sugar)!!
• I had to write an I.O.U. to my daughter because I didn't have the exact change for something
• I'm starting my So What list while watching David Letterman at midnight...I really should go to bed earlier, but we all have our priorities, right!?
• We gave my two 11 year olds texting cell phones for their birthdays...after I told sooo many of my friends...."don't get your kid a cell phone until they are at least 13"!!  (Oops, things change...never say never)
• The first thing my kids did this morning was argue over who gets the last bagel -- ahhh summer time!

• I actually felt a little panicked when Shannon said she was taking a Blog-cation...'cause then I would have to have a "real" post for Wednesday
• I kinda like parking in the handicapped parking when I'm with my mom (who has a permit)
• I ate two pieces of my birthday cake -- Sander's bumpy cake is awesome!
• I went to pick up my kids on their last day of elementary school and then one of them ended up going home with a friend and the other decided to take the bus home since it was the last day (and he wanted the ice cream the bus driver was handing out!)
• It's my kids first day of summer vacation and one of them (Jacob) has already said "I'm bored"....just to irritate me
• I asked my kids if they would play outside last night so I could watch the Real Housewives of Orange County Reunion on DVR (yes, they did!)
• I just went to the ATM in my pajamas so my son could pay his piano teacher this morning (long story) 
• most of my so whats are about my kids...they give me a lot of material
• I started this blog for writing therapy and friends and family...and now have found myself wanting comments and followers from people besides friends and family, too :)

• I spent WAAAAYYY too much time on this....blogger kept giving me an error message every time I tried to save my post....!!!  Ugh! (excuse the errors...)
• I am already feeling emotional about my youngest two (twins) graduating elementary school at the same time as my oldest graduates middle school

•  I don't have any teacher gifts yet...at least I have until Tuesday and I always figure something out!! (but feel free to leave a good idea if you have one ;) !!)
• the more there is to blog about, the less I feel like blogging...sometimes I just don't want to rehash everything!
• My son's baseball game tonite just got postponed 15 (whole) minutes due to extreme heat...and I'm secretly hoping it just gets cancelled!!!!
• We haven't planted one perennial yet...just crazy busy!

• my husband is out of town and I've already decided that means I'm not cooking
• I am supposed to be in three places at the same time tonite and I haven't quite figured out how I am going to do that
• I often spray mist my kids cotton shirts with water instead of ironing them...don't judge...it works!
• my son hit a home run at his baseball game on Saturday and I missed it (actually, that's not a so what....that's a so sad) :(
• my kids grades are posted on the school website and I stalk it every day to make sure they are keeping up and see how they are doing
• I could "so what" all day because next on my list is cleaning 3 bathrooms!

So WHAT if:

• I knew Wednesday was going to sneak up on me this week, so I started "so whating" on Monday night (smart, right!?)
• I insisted my family "walk faster" 'cause I thought we were going to be late for the Memorial Day parade...and then we were not late and the parade ended up lasting 15 minutes...tops!!! (oops...my bad, small town parade up north)
• I am overdue for a spa pedicure but have still been wearing flip flops ...I have been super busy and I always feel guilty doing things for me...(but I will this week...don't worry!)
• Me and my "Lucky" dog took cover in the basement Saturday night when the tornado sirens went off...I don't mess with that stuff ever since I saw what "straight line winds" did to the next subdivision over from me
• I have watched almost every Bachelor and Bachelorette in spite of the fact that the couples rarely stay together and I say I will never watch again...
• I feel a sense of anxiety in anticipation of the school year coming to an end...so many things on my "to do" list I wanted done before summer vacation
• The shipping for my "Oprah Winfrey Show" shirt cost more than the shirt...it was on clearance, got here in three days, and I have no regrets!

So WHAT if:

• I need to get in the shower but instead would rather say "So What" to some stuff
• my girls were writing notes back and forth during my son's piano recital...and I decided to discreetly join in (not very mature, right?)!!
• there are many days I would rather snuggle with my dog than my husband (lol)
• I went to Lowes with my husband and instead of him getting the parts he planned on to fix our grill -- I said "just get a new grill (and Happy Father's Day early)"  So we did!
• our new grill looks nicer than our deck because our deck needs to be restained
• I frantically tidied up my house yesterday because my mom's BFF was coming over and then I made pitcher of fresh lemonade and acted like my house is always clean (not!)
• I admire Oprah so much (see yesterday's post) that I would have had an Oprah Farewell Party if the show wasn't on when all my friends have to pick up their kids from school!
• I'm pretty sure I will cry after watching the last Oprah show today...I do stuff like that and my kids think it's hilarious and ridiculous all at the same time (So What)!!

So WHAT if: 

• I think baseball is the slowest-longest game ever -- that goes for both 9-inning professional games and my son's 6-inning games (and don't even say "extra innings")
• one of my happiest moments this week was when "Boston Rob" won Survivor Redemption Island (I have always liked that guy!)
• I did the happy dance when my daughter's soccer game was cancelled on Sunday because of rain...we finally got a semi-lazy Sunday
• I went crazy at Kohl's yesterday with my extra 30 percent off - it was fun (Total Saved $299...lots of clearance deals)!
• I am seriously thinking of going back to Kohl's today (last day of coupon)...to make sure I didn't forget anything ;)
• I loved watching the season opener of the Real Housewives of New Jersey Monday night -- what a train wreck!!
• I "surprised" my husband with a pile of mulch on our driveway -- that's one way to get the "Honey Do" list going
• I haven't had time to blog much of anything lately...but seem to have no problem whipping up a SO WHAT Wednesday list!!

So WHAT if:

• I had never used the words "that said" until I started blogging (and I don't use them in normal conversation either...weird!?)
• I almost cried when I picked up my dog from the groomer...a goldendoodle shaved down for the summer looks like a different doggy!
• one of the best parts of Mother's Day was the margarita I had with dinner (Ole!)
• my 13 year old daughter was home from school sick yesterday, and I didn't even think about taking her temperature until about noon (it was normal...just a bad cold)
• I was too chicken to call, so I texted another mom to tell her she owed me money for the dance clothes I bought for her daughter (awkward!)
• I literally put a $2 reward out for anyone (except Jacob) who could find Jacob's 5th grade class shirt and then raised it to $5 late last night!!  Crazy, I know...but I'm desperate to know where that thing is (boys!)!!??

So WHAT if:

• I was slightly irritated when a Breaking News alert flashed at the bottom of the TV screen and then interrupted the best part of Celebrity Apprentice on Sunday (anyone else?).  (I didn't know what it was about at the time...)

• My blog sometimes seems like therapy for me...that's 'cause... it IS!!

• My cousin's blog clued me in on some great bargains...and now I have 16 Sugar Cookie mix packages that I'm not sure I'll ever be able to use (I can always donate them or pray for a bake sale, right!!??) 
• It appears that every blogger is 10-20 years younger than me!!??  Maybe blogging will keep me young?? (If you're over 40, please leave me a comment!!)
• I have no reservations coloring my mom's hair for her, yet I pay way too much to have my own hair colored (because I would be too nervous to do it myself)
• My idea of a good Mother's Day would be going nowhere and doing nothing (and if the rest of the family wants to go somewhere and do lots of work -- even better)!!
